Program Specialist – International Programs (Mexico Team) at W.K. Kellogg Foundation

The W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF), one of the largest philanthropic organizations in the world, is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Program Specialist to join its International Programs team based in Mexico City, Mexico. This is a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the foundation’s mission of creating lasting, transformative change for children, families, and communities through equity-centered programming.

About the W.K. Kellogg Foundation

Founded in 1930 by breakfast cereal pioneer Will Keith Kellogg, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation is rooted in a vision of a world in which all children thrive. The foundation focuses on ensuring equitable access to education, health, and economic opportunity for all, especially for vulnerable and marginalized populations. With programs spanning the United States, Mexico, Haiti, and beyond, WKKF is deeply committed to addressing systemic barriers and uplifting community-led solutions.

Position Summary: What You’ll Do

The Program Specialist will provide key operational and strategic support to WKKF’s grantmaking and programmatic activities in Mexico. Working closely with Program Officers and the broader International Programs team, the specialist will help coordinate partnerships, monitor grantee progress, conduct research, and contribute to the development and execution of effective strategies.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting in the design and implementation of grantmaking strategies aligned with the foundation’s goals in Mexico.
  • Supporting grantee relationships and ensuring smooth communication, compliance, and performance tracking.
  • Conducting background research and analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Helping coordinate events, site visits, and partner convenings in the region.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to advance program objectives.
  • Ensuring timely documentation, reporting, and knowledge management.

This role requires a balance of administrative efficiency and cultural sensitivity, alongside a strong commitment to equity, racial healing, and community engagement.

Who Should Apply?

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of project management expertise, international development experience, and a strong understanding of social and economic issues facing communities in Mexico. WKKF is particularly interested in candidates who are passionate about community-led change and who reflect the diversity of the populations served.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as international relations, public administration, public health, education, or social sciences (master’s preferred).
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in program support, grantmaking, nonprofit work, or public service.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English (written and spoken).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of work.

Why Join the Kellogg Foundation?

Working at WKKF means becoming part of a global team driven by purpose, justice, and compassion. Employees benefit from a collaborative culture, professional development opportunities, and the ability to help shape real change on the ground. This is more than a job—it’s a chance to amplify the voices of communities and co-create solutions that last.
