About the Peering Fellowship
In an increasingly interconnected world, the efficiency and resilience of the Internet depend heavily on strong peering and interconnection systems. The Peering Fellowship supports professionals working to improve Internet access by enhancing local interconnection infrastructure and advocating for supportive policy environments.
This program selects 20 fellows annually and provides a structured blend of virtual learning and in-person engagement at major regional peering events.
Program Structure and What to Expect
Participants in the Peering Fellowship will engage in a comprehensive learning experience that includes:
- Virtual Learning Sessions: Interactive online sessions, workshops, and collaborative discussions
- In-Person Peering Event Attendance: Fellows will attend a regional peering event aligned with their location
- Technical Training: Deep dives into Internet routing, Internet Exchange Points (IXPs), and interconnection strategies

Regional Peering Events
Fellows will attend one of the following events based on their region:
- Africa: AfPIF (18–21 August, Kigali, Rwanda)
- Latin America & Caribbean: LACNIC/LACNOG (19–22 October, Mendoza, Argentina)
- Asia-Pacific: Peering Asia (2–6 November, Osaka, Japan)
- Middle East: Event to be announced
Eligibility Criteria
