Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to develop advanced AI infrastructure solutions.

Required Qualifications
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Commitment to being physically located at the assigned Microsoft worksite for the duration of the internship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.
- In-depth understanding of machine learning concepts.
- Research expertise in AI modeling and AI infrastructure.
- Experience in model training techniques, including pretraining, fine-tuning, reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), and benchmarking.
Compensation
- Applied Sciences IC2: $5,460 – $10,680/month (Redmond and similar locations); $7,040 – $11,640/month (San Francisco Bay Area and NYC Metropolitan Area).
- Applied Sciences IC3: $6,550 – $12,880/month (Redmond and similar locations); $8,480 – $13,920/month (San Francisco Bay Area and NYC Metropolitan Area).
