Proposals are now being invited by the UK Government, through UK PACT (Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transitions), as it extends its support to Kenya by funding new technical assistance and capacity-building projects in the Nature-based Solutions (NbS) sector.

Through the Kenya-UK PACT Country Fund, applications are now open for innovative, high-impact projects designed to address climate change, strengthen livelihoods, and build local resilience.

Funding Focus Areas

The call seeks proposals for projects that will:

  1. Strengthen Sustainable Commercial Forestry 
    Support initiatives that enhance the management and productivity of Kenya’s commercial forestry sector in a way that is environmentally sustainable and economically viable.

  2. Scale Up Smallholder Agroforestry & NbS Enterprises 
    Expand agroforestry practices among smallholder farmers and promote enterprises that provide nature-based solutions, improving rural livelihoods while delivering measurable climate and biodiversity benefits.

Project Requirements

Successful proposals should:

  • Align with Kenya’s climate goals and national development priorities.

  • Integrate Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) principles to ensure benefits reach vulnerable and underrepresented groups.

  • Demonstrate clear and measurable impact on climate mitigation, adaptation, and socio-economic development.

  • Funding Range: £400,000 – £650,000 per project
