  • Ability to share insights and experiences in home country or institution
  • Prior experience with World Heritage site management

“World Heritage in an Interconnected World: Leveraging Digital Technologies and Innovative Approaches”

1–8 July 2025 | UNESCO Headquarters, Paris

UNESCO is inviting applications for the World Heritage Young Professionals Forum 2025, to be held from 1 to 8 July 2025 at its headquarters in Paris, France. Organized in the framework of the UNESCO World Heritage Education Programme and with the support of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Forum will take place as an integral part of the 47th session of the World Heritage Committee.

This global gathering will bring together around 25 young professionals from diverse backgrounds to exchange knowledge, experiences, and innovative practices in the field of World Heritage conservation, with a focus on digital transformation and emerging technologies.


Theme:

World Heritage in an Interconnected World: Leveraging Digital Technologies and Innovative Approaches
The 2025 Forum will explore how technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality (AR/VR), drones, 3D modeling, and digital mapping can enhance the protection, presentation, and promotion of World Heritage. The Forum will also encourage innovative and sustainable approaches to heritage management in a rapidly evolving world.


Programme Overview

Participants will take part in interactive sessions, site visits, workshops, and discussions, culminating in the presentation of a Youth Declaration at the 47th session of the World Heritage Committee.

Provisional Schedule

  • 30 June: Arrival of participants

  • 1 July: Opening and introductions

  • 2–5 July: Thematic discussions and site visits

  • 6 July: Drafting of the Youth Declaration

  • 7 July: Presentation of the Declaration and closing of the Forum

  • 8 July: Departure of participants

Applicants must:

  • Be aged between 23 and 32 (born between 30 June 1993 and 30 June 2002)

  • Have academic or professional experience in architecture, archaeology, conservation, restoration, urban planning, art history, or other heritage-related fields
