Are you a young person passionate about making a difference in the East Asia and Pacific region? Do you want to shape impactful UNICEF programs, voice your ideas on social issues, and network with advocates from across the region? If so, the UNICEF East Asia and Pacific’s Young People’s Action Team (YPAT) might be the opportunity for you!
Why Join the YPAT?
The Young People’s Action Team (YPAT) was established to amplify the voices of young people in UNICEF’s regional programming. This initiative ensures that youth perspectives are not only heard but play an active role in shaping and implementing UNICEF’s projects. YPAT members gain access to development and mentorship opportunities, regional and global forums, and collaborative networks that strengthen their leadership skills.
Who Can Apply?
UNICEF is looking for young, driven advocates from the East Asia and Pacific region. Here are the criteria for YPAT membership:
- Age Range: 15-24 years
- Region: Must reside in East Asia or the Pacific
- Passion: Dedication to children’s and youth rights
- Experience: Proven involvement in social impact initiatives for young people
- Commitment: Ability to commit 8-10 hours per month for one year in virtual or in-person meetings

YPAT members will tackle some of the region’s most pressing issues, including:
- Child Rights
- Health and Nutrition
- Skills Development and Transition to Decent Work
- Violence Against Children and Harmful Practices
- Participation and Civic Engagement
- Environment and Climate Change
- Mental Health and Psychosocial Support
- Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Emergency Response
- Gender Equality
- Early Childhood Development
- Parenting Support
