Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for the EDA Traineeship Programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Nationality: Be a citizen of a Member State participating in the Agency.

Educational Background: Have completed at least a three-year higher education course (i.e., a full university degree) by the application deadline.
-
Languages: Demonstrate excellent knowledge of at least two participating Member States’ languages—one of which must be English, the Agency’s primary working language. Additional languages are a plus.

Relevant Background: Have a field of study aligned with the activities of the Directorate or Unit to which they are applying.

Security Clearance: Be able to obtain a Personnel Security Clearance Certificate (PSCC). (For more details, consult the FAQs.)

No Previous Traineeship: Applicants must not have previously held a paid or unpaid traineeship or employment of more than six weeks in another EU institution or body.
Programme Timeline and Duration
The Call for Applications is typically published in March, with the traineeship starting in September. Placements begin on either the 1st or 16th of the month, and the traineeship runs for a fixed period of 12 months.
Financial Support
To support trainees during their year at the EDA, the programme offers:

A monthly grant of €1,476.34

A fixed monthly meal allowance of €100
-
A disability supplement of up to 50% of the standard allowance to cover additional expenses for trainees with disabilities

Mandatory health and accident insurance
