Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Are you passionate about renewable energy and sustainable development? Do you want to contribute to the global energy transformation? The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is looking for an Intern to join the Governance Support Office (GSO) within the Office of the Director-General (ODG) in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Key Responsibilities

Developing and organizing contact databases for parliamentary and youth networks
Researching and updating contact databases based on electoral cycles in IRENA Member States
Assisting in organizing engagement meetings and developing relevant documents
Supporting the development of communication materials targeted at youth and parliamentarians
Researching and compiling briefs for parliamentary and youth meetings
Maintaining accurate records and background information for meetings organized by IRENA
Supporting web content development and management

Learning Opportunities

During your internship, you will

gain an understanding of IRENA’s parliamentary and youth engagement strategy,
develop skills in planning and organizing,
and enhance your research and communication abilities.
You will also have the opportunity to work in a multicultural environment and learn about the renewable energy sector.

Qualifications

Advanced undergraduate or Master’s/doctorate student at a recognized university
Fluent in English with excellent writing and communication skills
Knowledge of Arabic and French is an advantage
Familiarity with social media communication strategies and content management systems
Strong teamwork, planning, and organizational skills

Internship Details

Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of extension
Remuneration: USD 1,200 monthly stipend
Full-time position (40 hours per week) at IRENA Headquarters in Abu Dhabi, UAE
