The National Peace Corps Association (NPCA) has announced exciting opportunities for students, young professionals, and Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) through its 2026 Internship and Fellowship Programs. About the National Peace Corps Association (NPCA)

The National Peace Corps Association is a global alumni network representing nearly 250,000 Americans who have served in the U.S. Peace Corps since its founding in 1961. With over 80,000 members and growing, NPCA has been working since 1981 to ensure a stronger and more effective Peace Corps agency.

Through its programs, publications, and advocacy, NPCA connects Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs), supports local and global service projects, and provides resources to more than 150 Peace Corps affiliate groups across the United States.

NPCA Internship Program

The NPCA internship program gives students and early-career professionals the opportunity to work alongside department heads and contribute directly to NPCA’s mission. Interns will collaborate with a passionate team while gaining behind-the-scenes insight into nonprofit operations.

Internship Details

  • Internships are available remotely or in-person at NPCA’s Washington, D.C. headquarters.

  • Applicants must be U.S.-based (even if working remotely).

  • Positions may be full-time or part-time (minimum 20 hours per week).

  • Duration: at least three months.

  • These are unpaid learning opportunities. Interns must receive academic credit through their school or a formal internship program.

  • Positions are set-term opportunities and are not offers of employment.

Internship Roles

Internship opportunities are available in the following areas:

  • Advocacy Intern – Support NPCA’s work in influencing policy and advancing the Peace Corps mission through grassroots campaigns.

  • Management Intern – Assist with organizational operations, governance, and project management.

  • Development Intern – Support fundraising campaigns, donor relations, and grant writing efforts.

  • Communications Intern – Help with content development, newsletters, and storytelling initiatives.

  • Social Media Intern – Manage NPCA’s digital presence, engage with the community, and create impactful online content.

NPCA Fellowship Program

In addition to internships, NPCA offers fellowship opportunities for Returned Peace Corps Volunteers.

Editorial Fellowship

  • Designed specifically for Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs).

  • Fellows will work with NPCA’s flagship publication, WorldView Magazine, contributing to meaningful storytelling and editorial projects.

  • Duration: 4 months.

  • Stipend: $5,000.

  • Work includes editorial content development, writing, editing, and supporting social media engagement related to WorldView.
