A useful listing must be traceable. viamu organizes public opportunity information so students can compare it, while keeping the provider’s official material as the authoritative source. This policy explains what our review means—and what it does not mean.

No listing, logo, or source link implies that the provider has asked to be listed or has a relationship with viamu.

Traceable source

Listings should preserve an official or clearly identified public source and application route.

No implied affiliation

Aggregation does not make viamu a provider, representative, sponsor, or endorser.

Corrections welcomed

Students, providers, and rights holders can report errors, safety concerns, or removal requests.

What this policy covers

It applies to scholarships, fellowships, conferences, internships, grants, jobs, volunteering, workshops, exchanges, competitions, and similar opportunities displayed by viamu. It covers records imported automatically and records curated by a reviewer.

Accepted source types

We prefer the provider’s own page or application system. When that is unavailable or discovery starts elsewhere, a listing may use another clearly identified public publisher while viamu seeks an authoritative source.

  • Official provider websites, public application portals, official feeds, or APIs.
  • Official government, university, funder, employer, conference, or program publications.
  • Reputable public publisher pages that identify the original provider and can be cross-checked.
  • Manually reviewed records with source URLs and review provenance.
  • We do not treat private messages, leaked documents, paywalled personal data, or unverifiable social posts as sufficient authoritative evidence.

What viamu checks and normalizes

Automated ingestion and human review may structure inconsistent source text into searchable fields. Review can improve clarity but is not provider certification.

  • Provider identity, title, application route, source URL, and opportunity type.
  • Published dates, deadline, location or mode, fees, funding, benefits, eligibility, and application steps where available.
  • Duplicate or materially conflicting records.
  • Whether structured details are supported by cited source material and when verified.
  • Whether an eligibility rule can be checked from a user’s profile; uncheckable criteria remain explicit.

Independence and provider responsibility

viamu is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of a listed provider unless a separate page explicitly states a verified relationship. The provider owns and administers its opportunity, application, selection, fees, award, employment, travel, and communications.

The official source controls if it conflicts with viamu. A viamu review badge or verification date concerns the record and source—not the provider’s legitimacy, solvency, safety, or likelihood of selecting you.

Translations and summaries

Source-language content remains canonical. viamu may provide a validated translation or a concise normalized summary and should label translated or derived material. A translation may lose legal or technical nuance. The original provider text controls, especially for eligibility, deadlines, fees, award conditions, contracts, visas, and required documents. Private user content is not included in the public opportunity-translation workflow.

Deadlines, stale information, and archival

Providers can change a page without notice. viamu may recrawl, update, merge, or archive records and may preserve the last known source and verification time. Omission from a curated file does not by itself prove an opportunity ended. Users must verify time zones, rolling deadlines, extensions, funding availability, and application status on the official source before acting.

Corrections and safety reports

Send onviamu@gmail.com the viamu URL, official source, exact issue, and supporting evidence. Do not include unnecessary personal documents. We prioritize reports involving active fraud, unsafe payment routes, impersonation, discriminatory or unlawful content, exposed personal data, and imminent deadlines.

  • We may correct the record, add context, change the source, merge a duplicate, archive it, or temporarily restrict it while checking.
  • We may contact the source or provider through an independently verified channel.
  • We should record the reason and source for material editorial changes.
  • A correction does not guarantee that the provider will change its own material.

Copyright, trademark, privacy, and removal requests

A provider or rights holder may request correction, attribution, source-link adjustment, or removal by identifying the material, right asserted, authority to act, requested outcome, and contact information. A person named in public source material may also request privacy review, correction, objection, or removal. viamu will assess the request, applicable exceptions, public interest, source accuracy, and legal duties in good faith. Fraudulent notices are prohibited. This process does not limit any formal notice or regulator route available under applicable law.
