Prepare for a career in sustainability through the Carbon + ESG Analyst Course, a collaboration between Localized and the University of Cambridge. This free, 8-week online program is tailored for recent female graduates based in Nairobi, Cairo, or Johannesburg who are eager to build green skills and explore job opportunities in the field of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks.

You will receive expert instruction from Cambridge faculty and gain valuable industry connections through Localized. The course covers carbon accounting practices, ESG ratings, risk assessments, and reporting standards, providing you with the skills needed to support businesses adapting to new sustainability regulations.

Course Overview

By the end of this course, you will be equipped with the practical skills to drive sustainable change in organizations and meet the growing demand for green professionals. Key course topics include:

  • Reporting Standards: Learn requirements for frameworks such as the Taskforce for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Carbon Disclosure Program (CDP), and ISO 14064.
  • Carbon Accounting: Develop expertise in preparing Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Management Plans, performing GHG Inventories, and producing ESG risk assessments.
  • ESG Frameworks: Understand global sustainability frameworks, including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Double Materiality Assessment (DMA).

Eligibility

To qualify for this course, you must:

  • Be a female recent graduate based in Nairobi, Cairo, or Johannesburg.
  • Have a reliable internet connection and availability for online learning over 8 weeks from November to January (with a break from December 16–January 6).
  • Be interested in finding a job after completing the course. Localized will assist you in job searching and employer outreach.
  • Have a level of spoken and written English equivalent to IELTS 6.5 or higher.

Program Highlights
