In 2024, Deakin University reimagined its postgraduate offerings in Humanitarianism, International Development, and Community Development. These programs are designed to equip students with the critical education, skills, and ethical grounding needed to address the complex crises and global development challenges we face today.

Explore Critical Global Issues

The Graduate Diploma and Master of Humanitarianism and Development delve into pressing global issues, including:

Climate change
Poverty and hunger
Homelessness
Racism and cultural challenges
Forced migration

Students will examine the power dynamics between the Global North and South while addressing the overarching climate crisis and geopolitical tensions. The programs also explore community-led approaches to social justice, disaster response, and humanitarian efforts, critically analyzing their successes, limitations, and innovative possibilities for the future.
