About the Program

The TEFL program in Benin focuses on improving students’ English proficiency and enhancing teaching capacity in rural schools. Volunteers will also engage in after-school activities such as English clubs, spelling bees, and leadership programs.

This project offers a unique cultural immersion experience, combining language learning, community engagement, and personal growth. TEFL Volunteers in Benin also benefit from the Peace Corps’ TEFL Certificate Program—a globally recognized credential involving over 120 hours of training and two years of supervised teaching.
