Mark your calendars for September 20-21, 2024, as the United Nations hosts the Summit of the Future Action Days at its headquarters in New York. This pivotal event is an opportunity for stakeholders from all walks of life—including Member States, civil society, the private sector, academia, local and regional authorities, and youth—to come together and drive the implementation of the Pact for the Future.
Why Attend?
The Summit of the Future Action Days is designed to foster broad engagement and inclusion, bringing together diverse voices that have been instrumental in shaping global policies. With a focus on key themes such as digital and technology, peace and security, and sustainable development and financing, the Action Days will offer a platform for meaningful dialogue and action. A special emphasis will be placed on future generations throughout the event, ensuring that the voices of tomorrow are heard today.
Event Highlights
- Day 1 – Friday, 20 September 2024 (1-6 PM): The event kicks off with a youth-led afternoon, under the theme “#YouthLead for the Future: We believe in the promise of a better world for all.” This session, facilitated by the UN Youth Office, will spotlight the vital role of youth in global cooperation and the future of multilateralism.
- Day 2 – Saturday, 21 September 2024: The second day will focus on three priority themes:
- Digital and Technology
- Peace and Security
- Sustainable Development and Financing
The day will also feature discussions centered on future generations, with participation from Heads of State, Ministers, senior UN officials, and representatives from various sectors.
