Are you passionate about diversity in tech, eager to support women in programming, and looking for an international experience? The CodeWomen+ Project Assistant position, part of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) Volunteering program, might be your next big step.
What is CodeWomen+?
CodeWomen+ is a project by Open Cultural Center, based in Barcelona, aimed at empowering women and non-binary individuals through coding. The initiative provides mentorship, workshops, and a supportive community to those entering the tech field. As a volunteer assistant, you will play a key role in organizing and enhancing these activities.
Main Responsibilities
As a Project Assistant, you’ll support the coordination and development of CodeWomen+ activities. Your main tasks will include:

Attending and helping organize events and in-person meetings

Coordinating communications with participants, volunteers, and mentors
-
Managing participant information and databases
-
Supporting content creation for social media and newsletters
-
Helping run the CodeWomen+ workshop group
-
Promoting the project both online and offline
You’ll gain valuable experience in project coordination, digital communication, and community building—all while living in vibrant Barcelona.

Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, you must:

Be between 18–30 years old
-
Hold citizenship or residency in an EU member state or partner country

Be available for a 12-month placement in Barcelona
-
Not have participated in another long-term ESC project before

Can work independently and as part of a team
Prior knowledge of tech is welcome but not mandatory. Enthusiasm and a proactive attitude matter most.
