Overview
Microsoft Research New York City (MSR NYC) is seeking passionate and talented Research Interns to join their Machine Learning group. This opportunity allows individuals to work on groundbreaking topics in machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), reinforcement learning (RL), and robot learning. Interns will collaborate with world-class researchers and engineers to craft innovative research programs and contribute to advancements in the field.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate on research projects in ML, AI, RL, and robot learning.
- Develop and pursue independent research agendas with the potential for impactful publications in top venues.
- Work closely with team members and other Microsoft groups on innovative projects.
Qualifications
Required:
- Enrollment in a PhD program relevant to AI, ML, or RL.
- Commitment to working onsite at the assigned Microsoft location during the internship.
Preferred:
- Experience with theoretical or empirical research in ML, deep learning, RL, or large language models.
- Strong publication record in top research venues.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across groups and cultures.
- Creative and unconventional problem-solving skills.
Compensation
- Base Pay Range:
- $6,550–$12,880/month (standard locations).
- $8,480–$13,920/month (San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area).
