The Luminos Fund, an international nonprofit dedicated to providing education opportunities for marginalized children, is seeking a Director of Impact to lead its dynamic Impact team. This full-time role may be based in one of Luminos’ offices in Accra, Addis Ababa, Banjul, Boston, London, or Monrovia, or remotely in a time zone between GMT-5 to GMT+3. The position requires up to 25% travel to challenging contexts in Africa and the Middle East.
The Director of Impact will play a crucial role in shaping the organization’s approach to data-driven decision-making. The Impact team is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting program data to enhance learning outcomes for marginalized children. This role is ideal for experienced professionals with expertise in impact measurement, data analysis, and strategic thinking.

Eligibility Criteria
Education:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (one degree must be in a quantitative field).
Work Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in cross-cultural contexts.

At least 3 years leading high-performing technical teams.
Skills & Knowledge:
-
Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
-
Experience in user-centered system design and implementation.
-
Strong understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
-
Proficiency in SQL, R, Python, Tableau, Power BI.
-
Experience analyzing learning data (EGRA/EGMA preferred).
-
Willingness to become an expert in foundational literacy and numeracy.
-
Experience collaborating with government partners is a plus.
Location Requirement:

Must be based in a time zone from GMT-5 to GMT+3.
Key Responsibilities
1. Impact Strategy and Leadership
-
Develop and implement Luminos’ impact strategy.
-
Ensure alignment between impact strategy and teaching & learning strategy.
-
Serve as a thought leader in impact measurement.
-
Work with the Development team on funding opportunities.
2. Program Development for Impact
-
Ensure strong impact-driven program design and implementation.
-
Lead research and develop innovative solutions for program effectiveness.
-
Oversee impact assessments for new and existing programs.
-
Collaborate with the Teaching & Learning team to use data for program improvements.
3. Data Management and Analysis
-
Develop and maintain robust data systems for program impact measurement.
-
Ensure data quality across the organization.
-
Analyze and report program data for decision-making.
4. Team Leadership and Development
-
Recruit and manage a high-performing Impact team.
-
Foster an inclusive and collaborative work environment.
-
Build the Impact team’s capacity for evidence-informed decision-making.
-
Manage program budgets efficiently.
5. Financial Management
-
Develop and monitor budgets.
-
Track expenses and prepare financial reports.
