As a Research Intern, you will collaborate with a team of globally recognized researchers and engineers to pioneer cutting-edge AI-driven infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with researchers and engineers to develop advanced AI infrastructure solutions.
Work on innovative projects that enhance the efficiency and scalability of AI systems.
Explore and implement AI-driven solutions with potential for real-world impact.

Required Qualifications

Enrollment in a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or a related field.
Commitment to being physically located at the assigned Microsoft worksite for the duration of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.
In-depth understanding of machine learning concepts.
Research expertise in AI modeling and AI infrastructure.
Experience in model training techniques, including pretraining, fine-tuning, reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), and benchmarking.

Compensation

Applied Sciences IC2: $5,460 – $10,680/month (Redmond and similar locations); $7,040 – $11,640/month (San Francisco Bay Area and NYC Metropolitan Area).
Applied Sciences IC3: $6,550 – $12,880/month (Redmond and similar locations); $8,480 – $13,920/month (San Francisco Bay Area and NYC Metropolitan Area).
