FAQs

Is there a cost associated with membership? The Africa Policy Accelerator is free. CSIS will cover the cost of any dinners and engagements that happen onsite or are pre-arranged. Members are responsible for costs relating to any unplanned offsite convenings.

What type of time commitment is expected of members? Members typically meet for an hour once a month (between 6-7pm) in an informal setting. Additional engagements may occur but are less frequent and optional.

I am just a year or two over the age limit. Can I still apply? While the age restriction has a little flexibility, applicants that meet all the eligibility requirements will be prioritized. We ask that you keep this in mind as submissions tend to be highly competitive.

Is the APA open to college students? If you are a student that meets the eligibility requirements, you are welcome to apply. However, a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree does not equate to the requirement of a minimum of two years of full-time work experience in a relevant field.
