The Emerging Leaders in AI: Graduate Prep Program (2026–2027) is a highly supportive academic preparation initiative designed for aspiring graduate students who plan to apply to AI‑related Master’s and Ph.D. programs during the 2026–2027 admissions cycle. This program is hosted by Black in AI and aims to equip applicants with the knowledge, structure, mentorship, and community needed to submit strong and competitive graduate school applications.

The application deadline for the program is June 21, 2026 (Anywhere on Earth — AoE).

Program Overview

The Emerging Leaders in AI Graduate Prep Program is built for individuals who intend to apply to graduate programs in fields connected to artificial intelligence. These may include computer science, machine learning, data science, robotics, computational neuroscience, and other AI‑adjacent disciplines.

Participants must be planning to submit their graduate school applications between October 2026 and March 2027. The program does not fund application‑related expenses such as GRE fees, TOEFL fees, or university application fees, so applicants must have a plan to cover these costs independently.

What the Program Offers

The program provides a wide range of structured support resources to help applicants prepare competitive graduate school applications. These include:

1. Graduate Application Support Materials

Participants receive access to curated documents, guides, and resources that explain:

  • How to structure a strong Statement of Purpose
  • How to request impactful recommendation letters
  • How to build a compelling CV for graduate school
  • How to identify suitable programs and advisors

2. Community‑Based Peer Engagement

The program fosters a collaborative environment where participants can:

  • Connect with peers applying to similar programs
  • Share insights, challenges, and strategies

3. Facilitated Large‑Group Sessions
