About the Agreements for Good Program

The Agreements for Good initiative focuses on funding collaboration itself—supporting systems, partnerships, and shared accountability structures that enable bold ideas to thrive.

Rather than only financing outcomes, the program emphasizes:

  • Trust-building processes
  • Alignment between stakeholders
  • Long-term collaboration frameworks

This approach ensures that projects are not just successful in the short term, but resilient and scalable over time.

Funding Structure

The Docusign Foundation offers two types of funding support:

1. One-Time Grants

  • Designed to launch new partnerships and collaborations
  • Ideal for pilot initiatives or early-stage coalitions

2. Multi-Year Grants

  • Designed to sustain and strengthen established collaborations
  • Supports long-term impact and continuity

Priority Areas

The foundation invests in three critical areas where trust and agreements are essential:

1. Environment & Sustainability

  • Supports initiatives that promote harmony between people and nature
  • Focuses on building a resilient and sustainable planet

2. Data Privacy & Security

  • Funds efforts that protect digital identities and privacy
  • Encourages trust in emerging technologies, including AI

3. Future of Work

  • Advances solutions that ensure economic stability and opportunity
  • Promotes dignity and inclusion in a rapidly evolving workforce

What the Program Funds

The Agreements for Good program supports:

  • Collaborations and partnerships aligned with the three priority areas
  • Development of:
    • Governance models
    • Collaborative infrastructure
    • Enforceable agreements
  • Activities such as:
    • Convenings and stakeholder meetings
    • Facilitation and coordination
    • Agreement design and structuring
    • Prototype partnerships
    • Backbone organization support

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for funding, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Collaboration Requirements

  • One-time grants:
    • Minimum of two organizations working together
  • Multi-year grants:
    • Minimum of three organizations in formal collaboration

Organizational Requirements

  • The lead applicant must be an eligible entity such as:
    • Registered nonprofits
    • NGOs
    • Charities
    • 501(c)(3) organizations or global equivalents
    • Fiscally sponsored projects
  • Government entities (state, tribal, or local) may apply as the backbone organization

Preferred Collaboration Model

  • Cross-sector partnerships are strongly encouraged
    • Example: nonprofit + private company + public agency

Geographic Scope

  • Applications are accepted globally
  • Projects can operate at:
    • Local level
    • Regional level
    • Global level

The foundation supports initiatives both in regions where Docusign operates and anywhere in the world aligned with its mission.

What Is Not Funded

The program does not support:

  • Projects outside the three priority areas
  • Individual applicants
  • For-profit businesses
  • Religious or discriminatory organizations
  • Political campaigns or election-related activities
  • Fundraising events
  • Projects lacking a collaborative or agreement-building component
