Internship Overview

As a Climate Resilience Intern, you will work directly with the Climate Resilience Manager and program team to support research and engagement initiatives focused on strengthening community resilience to climate change.

The internship is full-time (up to 37.5 hours per week) during Summer 2026 and offers flexibility, allowing participants to work either in-person at the Washington, DC office or remotely from eligible U.S. states.

Key Responsibilities

Interns will engage in a variety of meaningful tasks, including:

• Conducting independent research on climate resilience topics such as extreme heat policies, environmental regulations, and disaster preparedness
• Supporting research on local and federal climate policies and resilience strategies
• Assisting with stakeholder engagement and outreach for the Climate Resilient Communities Accelerator
• Contributing to event planning, logistics, and coordination
• Developing written outputs such as blog posts, policy briefs, and research summaries
• Participating in interdisciplinary discussions and supporting broader program activities

This internship provides exposure to cutting-edge climate resilience initiatives, particularly through involvement in the South-Central Puget Sound Accelerator. Interns will explore:
