The NGO Committee on the Status of Women, New York (NGO CSW/NY) is excited to announce the second cohort of the Global Youth Fellows program for 2024-2025! This program is designed to empower young activists passionate about gender equality by providing them with a global platform to share their work and stories. Join a community of 20 Global Youth Fellows and become part of a network of like-minded youth advocates that will support your journey for years to come.
Focus of the 2024-2025 Cohort: This year’s cohort will be centered around the 30th anniversary of the 1995 Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, considered the most progressive framework for advancing women’s rights. Fellows will engage in programming focused on the Platform’s 12 critical areas and the human rights framework it applies to women and girls, including those with diverse gender identities.
Eligibility Requirements: To apply, candidates must:
- Be under 40 years old.
- Have a minimum of two years of professional or volunteer experience in community or civil society work.
- Be actively involved in a community engagement initiative in their home country.
- Be proficient in spoken and written English.
- Be able to start the program in October 2024.
- Commit to implementing the award within their organization.
Roles, Responsibilities, and Benefits:
- Commitment: Attend monthly meetings and complete program assignments.
- Financial Award: Your organization will receive a USD 1,000 award to support ongoing gender equality work.
- Publication: Your story and activism will be featured in a multimedia publication.
- Youth Preparation Series: Lead the Youth Preparation Series for the YLYPs’ network and play a key role in shaping the series.
- Instagram Takeover: Take over NGO CSW/NY’s Instagram to promote your work and engage with the global community.
- Advocacy: Participate in advocacy training and efforts alongside NGO CSW/NY and its partners.
- Networking: Access a global network of young advocates that will last for years.
- CSW Engagement: Engage in conversation circles, and speaking opportunities, and amplify your work at the CSW forum.
