As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to reshape economies, workplaces, and societies worldwide, nonprofits are under increasing pressure to design solutions that remain relevant in an AI-driven future.

To support this shift, a forward-thinking funding organization is now accepting applications for AI-focused nonprofit grants, aimed at organizations tackling problems that will persist—or emerge—in a world where automation and artificial intelligence play a central role.

This funding opportunity is open to nonprofit organizations working across diverse cause areas, with applications reviewed on a case-by-case basis. The funder’s core interest lies in backing initiatives that demonstrate long-term relevance, adaptability, and meaningful impact in an uncertain technological future.

About the Grant Opportunity

The grant program is designed to support nonprofit work that addresses critical social, economic, or environmental challenges in ways that acknowledge the growing influence of artificial intelligence. Rather than limiting funding to a narrow sector, the organization remains intentionally open to a wide range of ideas, understanding that no one can fully predict how AI will transform the world.

Whether your organization is addressing education, workforce development, digital inclusion, governance, ethics, healthcare, climate resilience, or community empowerment, proposals are welcome as long as they clearly articulate the problem being solved and the relevance of the solution in an AI-influenced future.

Important note:

All applications must be submitted in English, as the organization is currently only able to process English-language proposals.

Due to a recent surge in interest, applicants should also be aware that review timelines may take up to three months.

Who Can Apply?

This opportunity is open to both early-stage and established nonprofit organizations. Applicants will be required to provide basic organizational and leadership information, including:

  • Full name and valid email address
  • Organization website (if available)
  • Main founder or executive lead’s LinkedIn profile

For more established organizations, the LinkedIn profile should belong to the Executive Director or the individual with direct oversight of the program being proposed for funding.

Applicants must also indicate whether their organization is a legally registered nonprofit or charity.

Geographical Reach and Cause Areas

Organizations applying for these AI-focused nonprofit grants must specify their current or intended geographical reach. This can include:

  • International or Global initiatives (not country-specific)
  • Regional operations (such as Sub-Saharan Africa or other UN geoscheme sub-regions)
  • Country-specific programs

Applicants may select more than one option if their work spans multiple regions.

In addition, organizations must select the cause area or areas their project addresses. Multiple selections are allowed, recognizing that many social challenges intersect across sectors.

Defining the Problem and the Solution

A core part of the application focuses on clarity and impact.Applicants are required to clearly explain:

  • The problem they are trying to solve
  • Who is affected by this problem
  • Any relevant data or references that support the urgency of the issue
  • Equally important is the proposed solution. Organizations must describe:
  • What their solution is and how it works
  • Why this approach is effective
  • What uniquely positions their team or organization to implement it successfully

Concise, well-reasoned responses are encouraged.

Funding Amount and Use of Funds

Applicants must specify the amount of funding requested in USD and explain how the funds will be used.

While a detailed budget is not required at the initial stage, organizations should outline:

  • The expected outcomes of the project
  • How success will be measured
  • The impact the requested funding will help achieve

At later stages of the application process, a more detailed budget breakdown will be required.

Organizations are also asked to disclose whether they have previously received grants exceeding $500,000 from a single funder, providing additional context on funding history and scale.

Achievements and Supporting Documents

Applicants must list 1–3 key achievements they are most proud of, either at the personal or organizational level. These achievements should demonstrate credibility, experience, or measurable impact.

Supporting documents can also be submitted via accessible links. These may include concept notes, reports, presentations, or other materials that strengthen the proposal.

Additional Information and Referrals

The application form allows space for any additional information applicants wish to share that may support their case.

Finally, organizations are asked how they learned about the opportunity, including referrals from individuals, partner organizations, or networks. This helps the funder understand how their grant program is reaching the nonprofit ecosystem.

Why This Opportunity Matters

As AI reshapes how societies function, funding opportunities that prioritize long-term relevance are increasingly rare—and valuable. These AI-focused nonprofit grants offer organizations a chance to secure support for work that not only addresses today’s challenges but also prepares communities for the realities of tomorrow.

Nonprofits with innovative, forward-looking ideas are strongly encouraged to apply.
