The “Agriculture in Trade Agreements” online course, delivered through the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), provides a comprehensive learning experience designed to equip professionals with practical knowledge and policy-relevant skills in agricultural trade.

This fully funded, four-week e-learning program offers participants a deep dive into international trade frameworks, regional agreements, and policy tools shaping the global agricultural landscape today.

Module 2: Non-Tariff Measures in Agriculture

  • Sanitary and phytosanitary measures (SPS)

  • WTO SPS Agreement

  • Technical barriers to trade (TBT) and related agreements

Module 3: Agriculture in Regional Trade Agreements (RTAs)

  • Trends in regional trade agreements

  • Tariffs, quotas, and technical barriers

  • Export restrictions, export duties, and rules of origin
