If you’re a recent graduate looking to gain paid international experience in European policy, law, or public administration, the Robert Schuman Traineeships in the European Parliament offer a unique opportunity to work at the heart of the European Union.

Applications are now open for the October 2025 traineeship period, and the deadline to apply is 31 May 2025 (23:59 Brussels time).

This prestigious and competitive programme allows young professionals to contribute to the daily work of one of the world’s most influential legislative bodies while building valuable experience and networks in a multicultural and multilingual environment.

What Are Schuman Traineeships?

The Robert Schuman Traineeships are five-month paid internships offered by the European Parliament at its official offices in Brussels, Luxembourg, Strasbourg, or at its Liaison Offices across EU Member States.

Trainees work within the Parliament’s Secretariat and other departments, supporting legislative, research, communication, and administrative functions.

Named after Robert Schuman, one of the founding fathers of European integration, the programme reflects the Parliament’s commitment to fostering understanding, participation, and engagement in EU affairs.

Benefits of a Schuman Traineeship

  • Paid traineeship with a competitive monthly grant
