Applications are now officially open for the MMEG Scholarships for Latin America 2026, a prestigious funding opportunity designed to support women committed to improving the lives of women and children through education, leadership, and community impact.

The Margaret McNamara Education Grants (MMEG) program provides financial assistance to women from developing and middle-income countries who are pursuing higher education and who demonstrate a strong commitment to social development and gender equality.

Women across Latin America who are currently enrolled in eligible universities can now apply for scholarship support for undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, and postdoctoral studies.

The application period runs from June 1, 2026, to September 30, 2026 (11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time).

About the MMEG Scholarship Program

The Margaret McNamara Education Grants (MMEG) is a non-profit organization established to support women pursuing higher education in order to improve the quality of life in their communities. Eligibility Criteria for the MMEG Scholarship 2026

To qualify for the MMEG Latin America Scholarship, applicants must meet all the following requirements:

Age Requirement

Applicants must:

  • Identify as women
  • Be at least 25 years old by the application deadline

Citizenship Requirement

Applicants must:

  • Be citizens of a country eligible under the MMEG program

Enrollment Requirement

Applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled and registered in an eligible academic program
  • Study either full-time or part-time
  • Take at least two courses per academic period

  • Spouses
  • Retirees

of the following organizations:

  • The World Bank
  • International Monetary Fund (IMF)
  • Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)
  • Members of the MMEG Board
