About Mediterranean Youth in Action (MYA)

The Mediterranean Youth in Action (MYA) programme aims to foster positive change in the Euro-Mediterranean region. By empowering young pioneers to become catalysts for transformation, MYA promotes collaboration, idea exchange, and active citizenship. This programme bridges cultural divides and nurtures a vibrant community where youth can influence public policy and societal progress.

About Shaping Transformative Narratives

The “Shaping Transformative Narratives” initiative encourages young social media influencers to drive positive change through impactful storytelling. This call, launched by the ALF Secretariat, invites influencers from both sides of the Mediterranean to enhance media narratives and increase awareness about key societal issues.

Who Can Apply?

Young influencers aged 18 to 35 from one of the 43 Union for the Mediterranean (UFM) countries are eligible. Applicants should be independent influencers or affiliated with youth-led organizations and possess a strong social media presence.

Campaign Focus Areas

We welcome applications from influencers passionate about creating outreach campaigns in areas such as:

• Promoting peace and coexistence
• Accessibility and social inclusion
• Combating disinformation
• Storytelling for change
• Youth and women’s empowerment
• Ethics of AI & Technology
• Sustainability and eco-friendly living
• Art and creativity for social inclusion
• Intercultural relations across the Mediterranean

How to Apply

Submit your online application by 21 October 2024, 23:59 CET. Include a concise campaign pitch (max. 400 words) and a 60-second video. Note that applications cannot be saved as drafts and only complete submissions will be considered.

Programme Phasing

1. Join the Change Journey: Engage with “Shaping Transformative Narratives.”
2. Pitch Your Campaign Ideas: Submit your compelling campaign outline and video.
3. Skill Up Online: Selected candidates will receive online training in social media campaign design.
4. Craft Your Campaign Outline: Develop an Extended National Campaign Outline after training.
5. Bring Your Vision to Life: Implement your campaign with a budget of up to €4,000.
6. Regional Opportunities: Stand out for a chance to collaborate on a funded Regional Outreach Campaign, with a budget of up to €8,000.

Benefits of Participation

• Skills Enhancement: Gain project management and campaign skills through training, with certification from ALF.
• Networking Opportunities: Connect with influencers and civil society representatives.
• Financial Support: Receive funding for national or regional campaigns.
• Evaluation and Learning Support: Continuous guidance throughout the campaign process.

Selection Criteria

Applications will be evaluated based on:
