Overview of the WCPI Congressional Fellowship Program

The WCPI Congressional Fellowship is a seven-month immersive program that runs from January to July 2027. Selected fellows work full-time in congressional offices and participate in structured policy seminars designed to strengthen their understanding of legislative processes and public policy formulation.

This fellowship is designed not only as a professional placement but also as a leadership pipeline for individuals committed to advancing equity-focused policy research and decision-making.

Core Components of the Fellowship

  1. Capitol Hill Placement
    • Fellows are assigned to congressional offices
    • Serve as legislative assistants

  2. Full-Time Commitment
    • 40 hours per week in a congressional office
    • Direct engagement with legislative research and policy drafting
  3. Weekly Policy Seminars
    • Conducted by WCPI staff
