We are looking for innovative projects that align with our mission to expand human agency and improve lives in scalable, cost-effective ways. If your project can engage over 1,000 users, help people update their beliefs and perspectives, and has a measurable impact, we want to hear from you.

Funding Opportunity Details:

• Project Requirements:
  • Engage more than 1,000 users.
  • Help people update their beliefs, perspectives, or mental models, with demonstrable outcomes.
  • Measure outcomes for users and a comparison group of non-users to estimate impact.
  • Aim to reach over 1 million people by 2030.
• Application Deadline:
  Thursday, October 31st, 11:59 PM Pacific Time.
• Funding Available:
  At least $1 million in total awards for this round.

What We Fund:

• Fellowships:
  We offer fellowships once or twice a year to social entrepreneurs. These fellowships include a fixed contribution of $70,000 over seven months, with the expectation of producing a prototype, paper, or social venture by the end of the fellowship period.
• Time-Limited Projects:
  About once per quarter, we fund projects that implement and test specific ideas. Details and deadlines are available in the calls for proposals.
• Unrestricted and In-Kind Support:
  Occasionally, we provide unrestricted and in-kind support (such as tech, data, or research) to organizations that work at the intersection of research and implementation, advancing agency approaches to cost-effective scale. This support is invitation-only and typically contingent on past successful fellowship or project awards.
• Ecosystem Initiatives:
  We also support ecosystem initiatives that invest in shared assets and other public goods. This support is invitation-only and contingent on previous successful fellowship or project awards.

Our Funding Criteria:

• Relevance to Human Agency:
  Does your approach align with our values? Does it engage people’s consciousness and embrace their dignity? Does it offer relevant insights that help people gain new perspectives on their options and capabilities?
• Leverage & Synergy:
  Does your idea leverage technology to engage people in a scalable manner? Does it build on an existing network or have potential for cross-fertilization with other approaches we are considering?
• Data & Learning:
  Is your idea grounded in science, such as development economics, behavioral science, or social psychology? Does your organization use data to adapt rapidly, and is there a path to credible evidence of exceptional cost-effectiveness?
