Google has officially launched its first AI Professional Certificate, expanding its Generative AI catalog on Coursera, which has already attracted nearly three million enrollments globally. This new program is designed to help professionals integrate artificial intelligence into their daily work with practical, job-ready skills that go beyond basic prompting.
As AI fluency rapidly becomes a baseline expectation across industries, this certificate positions learners to stay competitive in an evolving workforce. According to recent research conducted by Google and IPSOS, more than half of job postings requesting AI skills are now outside traditional IT and computer science roles. However, only 40% of American workers currently use AI at work. This certificate aims to close that gap.
