About the Mastercard Foundation Associates Program

The program is a 12-month professional development and placement initiative for young professionals aged 18–35 with 0–2 years of work experience. Selected candidates—called Associates—undergo a rigorous selection and pre-training process before being matched with employers based on skills and career interests.

Following the successful completion of Phase 1, the program is now launching Phase 2, expanding placements across multiple African countries.

Who Can Apply as an Employer

To host an Associate, organizations must:

Be a legally registered business
Have operated actively for at least 3 years
Offer entry-level roles (0–2 years of experience)

Offer basic benefits (stipend contribution, monetary or non-monetary benefits, or pathways to full-time roles)
Provide necessary work tools (e.g., laptops, safety gear)
