This full-time role is designed for motivated individuals eager to contribute to initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement while gaining hands-on experience in project management, partnerships, and fundraising.
About the Ban Ki-moon Foundation
The Ban Ki-moon Foundation is a quasi-international organization working to empower current and future leaders to advance sustainable development worldwide. With strong connections to global institutions, including the United Nations, the Foundation plays a vital role in promoting climate action, education, gender equality, and youth engagement.
Position Overview
The Project & Development Associate will support senior leadership and contribute to a wide range of strategic and operational activities. The role combines project coordination, fundraising, stakeholder engagement, and administrative support, making it ideal for candidates seeking a dynamic and multifaceted work environment.
The contract is initially offered for 12 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising and Partnerships
- Support the development and implementation of fundraising strategies
- Assist in drafting proposals for international donors, including governments, EU grants, and private sector partners
- Conduct research to identify funding opportunities and maintain internal databases
- Coordinate grant proposal processes and support technical documentation
Project Management
- Assist in implementing foundation projects such as scholarships and mentorship programs
- Support the organization of events, including logistics, coordination, and reporting
- Monitor project deliverables and evaluate impact
- Contribute to communication materials, including briefs and social media content
Strategic and Administrative Support
- Provide assistance to senior management, including calendar coordination and meeting preparation
- Conduct background research for high-level engagements
- Support collaboration with international partners and stakeholders
Skills and Qualifications
Required:
- 1–2 years of experience in proposal writing and/or project management
- Excellent English language skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Interest in sustainability, gender equality, education, and environmental issues
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
Desirable:
- Experience in NGOs or international organizations
- Knowledge of fundraising and partnership development
- Additional language skills (German and/or French)
- Familiarity with digital tools such as MS Office, Zoom, and Canva
Salary and Benefits
- Monthly net salary starting at 2,000 EUR, paid 13 times per year

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must have the legal right to work in Austria for the entire duration of the contract. Non-EU candidates must provide a valid work permit at the time of application.
