Call for Applications: Join the CIVICUS Youth Action Team 2025-2026

Are you a passionate young leader eager to make a global impact and ensure meaningful representation and engagement of youth in CIVICUS’ structures, governance, strategies, and activities, with a focus on strengthening youth participation in civil society? Do you believe in civic engagement, youth participation, and social justice? Then the CIVICUS Youth Action Team (YAT) 2025 is looking for you.

About the CIVICUS Youth Action Team

The CIVICUS Youth Action Team is a global initiative that amplifies youth voices in civil society and fosters meaningful youth engagement in the CIVICUS World Alliance. The Youth Action Team perceives civic space as the final frontier and wants to make sure the youth have the tools to fully engage. It is a place for co-creation and designing innovative projects, the YAT sets its own agenda and work plan to make sure they develop projects in the areas that are currently more critical for young activists, social innovators and human rights defenders. The role focuses on the 4000+ CIVICUS Youth Members.

Who Should Apply?

We are looking for young individuals who:

🔹 Are between 18-30 years old by 31 December 2025.

🔹 Have experience in youth activism, civic engagement, or social movements.

🔹 Are committed to advancing youth rights and participation globally.

🔹 Have strong communication and leadership skills.

🔹 Are ready to dedicate time to actively contribute to the YAT’s work.

🔹 Know how to organise and run online networking events that encourage dialogue and information exchange.

🔹 Are comfortable working in English and in a different time zone with a global team.

🔹 Have a monthly internet usage commitment of at least 10 hours to the CIVICUS Youth Action Team.

🔹 Can attend a yearly in-person meeting lasting one week (if weather permits travel).

🔹 Are active participants in a civil society group that is promoting constructive change in your neighborhood, whether it is registered or not.

🔹 Have experience in joining a national or regional leadership team of a social movement or network.

🔹 Have approval from your organisation or company before applying.

🔹 Are skilled in organising people to support progressive social justice objectives at local, regional, and global levels.

🔹 You come from North, Central America, South America, the Caribbean, North, West or Southern Africa, Middle East, Central Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia? (Mexico, Zimbabwe and Zambia are not eligible since there is existing YAT representation in this cohort).
