The newly announced Programme Officer (Returns) position is based in Damascus, Syria, and is being administered through the Nedworc Foundation under the Dutch JPO Programme. Under the supervision of the Chief of Mission and the Senior Programmes Coordinator/Head of Programmes, the successful candidate will work closely with project managers and colleagues across protection, health, and resettlement sectors.

  1. Supporting the planning and coordination of voluntary return movements
  2. Assisting in the operational setup for return programmes
  3. Supporting the establishment of operational infrastructure

  5. Implementing protection-sensitive approaches throughout return operations

Eligibility Criteria

  • A maximum of 32 years old as of 31 December of the application year.

Educational Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following academic qualification pathways:

Option 1

  • A Master’s degree or equivalent in:
    • International Relations
    • Political Science
    • Humanitarian Affairs
    • Economic Development
    • Business Administration
    • Public Administration
    • International Studies
    • Or a related field

AND

  • At least two years of relevant professional experience.

Option 2

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution

AND

  • At least four years of relevant professional experience.
