About the SDGs Advocate Programme (SDGs-AP)
The SDGs Advocate Programme (SDGs-AP) is a crucial initiative aimed at addressing the gap in awareness and understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among Nigerian youth. As a vibrant and dynamic population, young people are not just the future of Nigeria, but the key to achieving sustainable development. This programme empowers them to become active stakeholders in driving the SDGs agenda.
The overarching goal of the SDGs Advocate Programme is to build a community of exceptional young leaders who will champion and promote SDGs advocacy nationwide. Specifically, the programme seeks to:
- Enhance Knowledge and Awareness – Deepen Nigerian youths’ understanding of the SDGs and the crucial roles they play in their achievement.
- Incorporate SDGs Education – Equip young advocates with the skills to integrate SDGs education into schools and foster local community engagement.
- Strengthen Youth Networks – Build new and strengthen existing youth networks to domesticate, monitor, and engage with the SDGs at the grassroots level.
Programme Details
- Application Opens: November 18th, 2024
- Application Deadline: December 15th, 2024
- Training Duration: 3 months, starting January 13, 2025
